Laci McDonald

laci_s1Laci has been a member of the Ballet School community for years. She has taught primarily contemporary jazz (all levels/ages) and led and choreographed for several of our summer camp programs. Laci started dancing in Boca Raton, Florida at the age of three, before relocating to the Raleigh area in 1991. She continued to further her ballet, tap and jazz techniques through local workshops and studios until moving to Greenville, NC to study at East Carolina University. She graduated Suma Cum Laude from ECU with a BFA in Dance Performance (Jazz) and a BSBA in Business Management in 2007. Still interested in small business management, Laci earned her MBA from East Carolina University in 2012. Laci joined the Ballet School Faculty in 2007 and became a partner in 2017. Additionally, Laci has been the Dance Teacher/Choreographer and an Academic Advisor at Durham Academy’s Upper School since 2009. While at ECU, she expanded her training to include Hip Hop, Contemporary, Modern and Musical Theatre. She was pleased to work with such teachers as Tommi Galaska, Clarine Powell, Patti Weeks, Roger Belman, Dawn Clark, and Joseph Carow. She also performed under guest choreographers Nick Pupillo and Colleen Taylor. She has participated in a number of professional workshops, including the American Dance Festival and the PULSE Teacher Workshop in New York. Her most proud roles are wife and mother. Laci and husband Justin are the proud parents of son Everett and daughter Lennox.
