Julie Walters

Julie Janus-Walters received her early training in Madison, Wisconsin under the direction of her mother and aunt. At 16, she received a scholarship to study at the Joffrey Ballet School. In 1980, she became a member of the Joffrey II Dancers and in 1982 was chosen by Robert Joffrey to join the Joffrey Ballet. Ms. Janus-Walters was a leading dancer with the Joffrey Ballet for 16 years and was featured in performances across the United States and around the world. From 1993-94 she danced with Atlanta Ballet as a principal dancer, and in 1995 she was a guest performer with the National Ballet of Iceland. Since then, Ms. Janus-Walters has been a guest teacher for the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago as well as for various summer programs across the country. She currently teaches ballet at UNC-Chapel Hill and is a partner at The Ballet School.
